Welcome to
Super Blog Sunday. We are taking this day to promote local blogging in Salem. Please take the time to click on
all of the local blogs in our RSS feed to the left of this post. Those are blogs written by local folks about a variety of subjects. When you are done,
come back to this site and tell us which blog you thought was the best. Just leave the name of the blog in the
comment section below this post. Thanks for being a part of our fun. If you do not have a blog and would like one, it's really easy.

Are you ready for some football blogging? The first annual Super Blog Sunday is here and the best bloggers better be ready to battle. This is a full contact sport! Super
Bowl Sunday is the most watched TV show of the year. Super
Blog Sunday will be the most blogged day of the year for Salemites. Here's how it's going to work. If you have a blog attached to this site, write a post and have it ready to post on February 6th 2011, the day of Super Bowl XLV. Then, sometime during the day, go to this site,
salemites.com and click on
all the Super Blog posts in the RSS feed area to the left. If everyone does this, we will have a hundred or so new posts to look at. Only four of those will be mine. Once you're done, write the name of your favorite blog in the comment section of this blog. The winner will be crowned champion. With a hundred people posting and clicking, every site will receive a hundred "unique visitors" and even more page hits. Buzz from the event will bring new people into the online/blog/twitter community and wake up some blogs that have been dormant for awhile.(yes I'm talking about you Lisa, Ross, Rob) I've created a cheesy graphic that you can put on your site to promote the big day. Here's the code to put it onto your blog:
<a href="http://www.salemites.com/2011/01/superblog-sunday.html" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="199" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_RAJT2WTZql8/TUWUNCEWCRI/AAAAAAAAF2E/-EAhkPFmX38/s320/sbsunday.gif" width="320" /></a>
See you Sunday!
Is it too early to post? I sure hope not.
ReplyDeleteMy number one favorite blog in Salem is Desperately Seeking Salem. The smart and sassy Emily G is entertaining and engaging and if you are lucky enough to meet her, she's also a super cool person. Thanks for continuing to expose the untold tales of Salem!
My vote goes to Eat Salem for my favorite blog. There are so many wonderfully creative bloggers here in Salem, but the one I refer to most often for up-to-date information about the dining scene is Eat Salem. Thanks Gino and all of the contributors for your interesting outlooks on life in our wonderful city of Salem, Oregon!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy What's Up With That? with both the recipes and the everyday life bits. And I love that I can totally hear K's voice and wonderful laugh when I read her posts!
ReplyDeleteMy vote goes to Salem Breakfast on Bikes. Eric walks the talk and gives the Salem bike community a voice. Ride (and write) on!
ReplyDeleteI like Melina's Get Real blog
ReplyDeleteMy vote goes to DIY Studio...not just because of my relationship with her, but I am in awe of her talent and great ideas. I love her and her blog.
ReplyDeleteEric's Breakfast on Bikes is the most all-around informative, insightful, and useful blog in town!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading Eat Salem for a little while now! It's great to be able to find somewhere new to eat when it's late and we are asking the perpetual question, "Where do we want to go?"
ReplyDeleteI vote for Salemites.
ReplyDeleteGino had an idea, he acted on it and community members joined up.
Thanks, Gino.
I am loving all the blogs I'm finding. I like Living Culture Online, and I really want to make that cheese ball!
ReplyDeleteI like everyone's blogs as long as they're a-bloggin regularly. But yes, Eric's is great -- and getting greater all the time -- Jessica's is easily the best looking, Gino gets props for being the mystery man behind the madness, and I still really like Capital Taps for its stalwart conviction to its goals for itself as a blog.
